Equal funding for societies will be top of the agenda for the newly-elected vice-president of student development at Birmingham City University’s Students’ Union.
Natalie Chan won the role after the votes were tallied yesterday (9th March).
She said she was delighted to have been elected having missed out on the role last time around.
“I will try my best to make sure that societies, especially sports, will get the funding they deserve,” she said.
“I’m really pleased and humbled to have this position.”
More than 4,000 students took part in the vote, which also saw Victoria Bennett-Salvador take the role as Women’s Officer.
She said: “I want the university to focus more on helping women stand out and feel empowered about their work.”
