The parents of a nine-year-old boy who died at school after suffering a suspected allergic reaction have released a picture of their son.
Mohammad Ismaeel Ashraf – known as Ismaeel – fell ill on Friday afternoon (3rd March) at Al Hijrah School in Bordesley Green.
When paramedics arrived they found Ismaeel had collapsed, and he died later in hospital.
Detective Chief Inspector Edward Foster, from West Midlands Police, said: “We continue to support the family during this tragic time and they have asked that their privacy is respected.
“We are working with the school and other partners to piece together exactly what happened.”
