Green fingered Brummies offered discounted waste collection

Birmingham City Council are offering local residents the chance to sign up for a fortnightly garden waste collection.

The collection will take place on the same day as household waste collection and the service will run from February 22 to November 27 2016.

This service previously cost subscribers £35 per year, but is reduced to £33 when booked online here.

The service has been expanded upon since last year, with the council revealing that it is now possible to “dispose of uncooked vegetables, spoilt fruit and tea bags in the garden waste bin”. In addition, subscribers to this service being provided with a new wheelie bin to place waste in. The service is available across the entire city.
